Alizé Arnaud tested our 3/2 for Surf Session and won the match. Winner award!

Surf Session awards

Once again this year, Surf Session Magazine is giving out 2 awards at the end of these tests: best value for money and best performance. Find out which brand will win these awards in the videos!
Alizé Arnaud, Junior World Champion (2010) and 4-time European Champion (2008, 2009, 2013 and 2015) accompanied us on these tests. From the first impression to the fitting and, of course, the surf session, she tells you all about her feelings.

3 levels of testing and several aspects analysed

The suits are assessed at several levels: handling, fitting, water test. Each level is then scored out of 5 (maximum score) to determine an overall score for each wetsuit. To give them a grade, Alizé relies on her impressions in terms of warmth, elasticity, comfort, materials, aesthetics and eco-design. We hope this will make your choice easier! Our tests also take a look at the wetsuit’s absorption rate and mention each brand’s commitment to sustainability.

Absorption rate, definition

The absorption rate determines the ratio between the dry and wet suit. To calculate it, each suit is weighed before and after total immersion in water (for the same length of time). A high value represents high absorption, which therefore affects the total weight of the product once it has been in the water.

Below are her impressions of our 3/2.

Gzeiten 3/2mm women
A silky, elegant second-skin Yamamoto suit with minimalist design and seams. Made from the highest quality Yamamoto neoprene (99.7% waterproof) – designed to stand the test of time. Yamamoto #39 has been chosen on the 3mm zones for warmth, comfort and buoyancy: a lightweight rubber in the core and upper legs. On the 2mm zones, Yamamoto #40 super strech provides the maximum flexibility essential to the arms, shoulders and lower legs. The 99.7% waterproofness of the fabric and the second-skin cut provide warmth for longer sessions. Yamamoto neoprene has set exceptional standards for durability. Gzeiten has also reduced the weakest link in each suit – the seams – to a minimum, without affecting freedom of movement. The inner and outer linings are made from silky-smooth, super-stretchy, water-repellent nylon.

Sustainable commitment: Gzeiten is certified for good working practices in production. At the same time, the brand works with Yamamoto limestone neoprene and therefore uses no petroleum in its production, only canola oil. 100% renewable energy is used in the production process. What’s more, the packaging is plastic-free and sent by green shipping. The product comes with a 1-year repair and replacement guarantee.
